A former officer in the Swedish Army, Bo has an established reputation for challenging the status quo and entering new environments as an “outsider” serving as both a situational, strategic and fact-based leader. Bo’s rare combination of vision, intelligence, toughness, strong communication and leadership skills have served him well in tough markets and the most demanding professional environments.
He currently serves as CEO of Uzauto Motors JSC and Uzauto Motors Powertrain JSC, the largest subsidiaries of Uzautosanoat JSC in Andijon, Uzbekistan.
He is also the Founder and President of Ivanhoe IV, a Global Investment and Leadership Company.
A native of Falkenberg, Sweden, Andersson is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program (AMP) and holds a bachelor’s degree from Stockholm University.

His impressive resume includes a long and diverse list of professional successes, a track record that spans more than three decades in the automotive industry. He has worked for both public and private companies, served OEMs and large Tier 1 suppliers (both domestically and abroad), and has demonstrated his expertise in both driving substantial growth and overcoming extraordinarily challenges. Highlights include a 16-year tenure at General Motors elevating to the role of head of global purchasing and supply chain. That that time, he oversaw the largest budget of any company in the world.
He subsequently served as President and CEO of Yazaki North and Central America and President of Yazaki Europe and Africa, where he was responsible for more than 140,000 team members across 28 countries and managed approximately $8 billion in revenue and successfully guided the company through the pandemic and global supply chain crisis. He also led global purchasing activities for Yazaki, the world’s largest producer of electrical wiring harnesses for the automotive industry.
Andersson’s career has been punctuated by global accomplishments, transformative turnarounds, and the kind of historic firsts that have garnered him a well-earned reputation as a highly effective leader. He was the first foreign president of JSC AVTOVAZ, Russia’s largest car manufacturer. As CEO of Russian automotive conglomerate GAZ Group, he oversaw a turnaround from losses of $1 billion to an EBIT performance of 10.3 percent. And he served as an advisor for the complex transition to the third generation of Yazaki family leadership of the North America and Central America operations.
His extensive experience in not just different markets, but on different continents, has given him extraordinary insights into the forces shaping the global automotive marketplace. A highly respected thought leader, he is in high demand as a speaker and presenter at national and international conferences on leadership, finance, innovation, and the evolving landscape of an increasingly globalized automotive industry.
