He has worked for both public and private companies, served OEMs and large Tier 1 suppliers (both domestically and abroad), and has demonstrated his expertise in both driving substantial growth and overcoming extraordinarily challenges. Highlights include a 16-year tenure at General Motors elevating to the role of head of global purchasing and supply chain. That that time, he oversaw the largest budget of any company in the world.

He subsequently served as President and CEO of Yazaki North and Central America and President of Yazaki Europe and Africa, where he was responsible for more than 140,000 team members across 28 countries and managed approximately $8 billion in revenue and successfully guided the company through the pandemic and global supply chain crisis. He also led global purchasing activities for Yazaki, the world’s largest producer of electrical wiring harnesses for the automotive industry.

Andersson’s career has been punctuated by global accomplishments, transformative turnarounds, and the kind of historic firsts that have garnered him a well-earned reputation as a highly effective leader. He was the first foreign president of JSC AVTOVAZ, Russia’s largest car manufacturer. As CEO of Russian automotive conglomerate GAZ Group, he oversaw a turnaround from losses of $1 billion to an EBIT performance of 10.3 percent. And he served as an advisor for the complex transition to the third generation of Yazaki family leadership of the North America and Central America operations.

From 2021 – 2024 he served as CEO of Uzauto Motors JSC and Uzauto Motors Powertrain JSC, the largest subsidiaries of Uzautosanoat JSC in Andijon, Uzbekistan. During that time the company increased its annual manufacturing and sales volume by more than 60% to 400,000+ units while also creating 4,000 new jobs. It also successfully launched both the Chevrolet Tracker and Onix, and Uzbekistan emerged as the second-largest Chevrolet market for the second year in a row after the United States.
